At the tail end of the game's opening power play, the Blackhawks opened the scoring as Brandon Hagel, who drew the minor, scored his fourth in the last seven games. 3rd - 5:59 - Dylan Strome (Alex DeBrincat, Erik Gustafsson)

Chicago re-gained the lead early in the third period as Dylan Strome netted his second goal of the season fresh off the bench in a rush. Walking down the boards off a zone entry, Erik Gustafsson sent a puck into the slot for Alex DeBrincat, but the winger was tied up in front and the puck deflected to the far side of the ice for Strome joining the rush. The forward put a quick shot up high and found twine for a 2-1 lead.
